Job Summary
Perform routine repair and preventative maintenance on buildings, grounds, facilities, and equipment to ensure proper working order. Prepare and forward material requisitions while maintaining accurate operation records and inventory levels. Operate a variety of tools and motorized equipment, including hands-on training for youth in the vocational exploration program. Plan ongoing projects based on facility age and usage, and handle other assigned facility duties. This role offers overtime eligibility and requires a high school diploma, 1-3 years of maintenance experience, and a valid Florida driver's license. Full-time employment at $17.00 per hour includes comprehensive benefits and a Level 2 background screening.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 to 3 years maintenance experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities of the position
- Valid Florida drivers license in good standing
- Knowledge of basic methods, practices and equipment used in maintenance work
- Basic knowledge of the operation of tools and equipment used in general maintenance and repair work
- Methods and techniques for storing equipment, supplies and materials
- Knowledge of basic preventative maintenance activities
- Techniques of storing equipment, materials and supplies
- Skilled in the performance of one or more trades
- Ability to perform a variety of building, grounds, and equipment maintenance duties
- Ability to read, interpret and follow rules, regulations, policies and procedures
- Ability to operate tools and equipment used in general maintenance
- Ability to prepare and maintain accurate records
- Ability to perform routine clerical work
- Ability to maintain and monitor inventory levels
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations quickly and accurately
- Ability to provide information and assistance to parents, youth, general public and other staff members in a helpful, courteous and timely manner
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
