Maintenance/HVAC Technician

Job Summary
Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems, machinery, and process equipment including pumps, piping, compressors, and heat exchangers. Maintain, install, and rebuild rotating equipment while performing instrument calibrations and repairing control circuits. Collaborate with operators and engineers to resolve mechanical issues, ensuring optimal reliability and energy efficiency. Read and interpret P&ID's, loop sheets, and electrical drawings to guide maintenance activities. Adhere to strict safety protocols, including wearing acid suits and respirators, while performing preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on 480 VAC motor starters and VFDs.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- The ability to work 8-10 hour shifts or 12 hour rotating shifts (including weekends and holidays) and overtime, under various conditions including some outside work in all weather conditions
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders, and work at elevated heights
- Walk, stand, safely lift 50 pounds and wear various protective equipment, wear industrial safety equipment; hard hat, gloves (both leather and chemical), hearing protection, FR clothing, steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, goggles, respirators, chemical suit
- Industrial maintenance experience in either Millwright and Pipefitting, Instrument and Electrical or HVAC meeting one of the following: Minimum 1 year of documented industrial maintenance experience in Mechanical, E&I or HVAC maintenance OR Minimum 1 year of documented industrial maintenance experience plus one of the following: Associate degree Public or military technical training school NCCER certification*
- Must be able to pass a motor vehicle check and physical
- Must be able to perform all duties listed with or without accommodation
Desired Qualifications
- Demonstrated planning and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to self manage and function as a team member of a diverse work team
- Computer Literacy (SAP, basic usage of PC & Microsoft Office products)
- Experience as an HVAC Service Technician with a certified HVAC Company
- Demonstrated knowledge of math, the ability to understand trend charts and scale reading
- Experience working in the chemicals industry
- Experience applying Lean methodologies to maintenance processes and supporting the implementation of business systems
