Job Summary
Conduct preventive maintenance, repairs, and replacements for mechanical apparatus, plumbing, carpentry, electrical systems, and HVAC units across all rental units and common areas. Perform tasks including filter changes, lubrication, smoke detector checks, window and door repairs, trash removal, grounds maintenance, and cleaning hallways, elevators, and apartments. Repaint, recharge refrigerant, and maintain washers and dryers as requested. Work part-time at 28 hours per week. Must reside within a 20-mile radius of the housing project, hold a valid driver's license, and own or lease a reliable vehicle.
Required Qualifications
- High school education
- Five years of maintenance experience
- At least two years of supervisory experience in a maintenance work setting
- Knowledge and ability to give guidance and training
- Understanding of and willingness to work with disabled and elderly persons
- Working knowledge of basic electricity
- Working knowledge of plumbing
- Working knowledge of heating and cooling systems
- Working knowledge of carpentry
- State of West Virginia certification in use of refrigerant and related equipment
- Ability to lift a maximum of 50 pounds with or without an accommodation
- Minimum traits to meet the responsibilities of the position
- Residence within a 20-mile radius of the designated housing project
- Valid driver's license
- Adequate transportation to perform this job
- Personal ownership of a reliable vehicle OR leasing of a vehicle
