Job Summary
Follow a work order system to complete repairs for dorm rooms and academic buildings, including HVAC, plumbing, drywall, painting, and light electrical tasks. Manipulate furniture as needed and perform minor window repairs. Operate snow removal equipment and assist with snow plowing during winter months. Work collaboratively with team members while taking direction from supervisors. Maintain on-call rotation with other facilities employees for a one-week month, covering after-hours or weekend emergencies. This full-time role supports safe and efficient facility operations at Anderson University, reporting directly to the Facilities Manager.
Required Qualifications
- Previous facilities or maintenance
- Ability to lift, push, and carry items up to 75 lbs
- Frequent bending, stooping, standing, and walking for extended periods (up to 8 hours/day)
- Ability to operate tools as needed
- Ability to work in varying indoor and outdoor environments
- Must be able to work with a diverse group of people
- Willingness to learn and take initiative
- Ability to read, follow instructions, and work as part of a team
- Punctual, dependable, and professional in demeanor
- On-call rotation with other facilities employees (1-week month)
- Minor repairs to HVAC, plumbing, drywall repair or painting
- Light electrical
- Assist with snow removal- Able to operate snow plows or other snow equipment
- Monday-Friday 7A-4P (On-call rotation to include after hours or weekends as needed for emergencies)
