Job Summary
Conduct daily cleaning of classrooms, offices, hallways, restrooms, cafeterias, and common areas, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, sanitizing, and replenishing supplies. Assist with routine building inspections, complete basic repairs like changing light bulbs and replacing ceiling tiles, and support preventative maintenance tasks throughout the facility. Set up and break down tables and equipment for school events, assist with classroom moves, and manage deliveries and inventory organization. Perform routine safety walkthroughs, ensure exits remain hazard-free, and report maintenance concerns or security issues immediately to the Operations Facilities Manager. Work Monday through Friday with occasional evenings or weekends for emergencies and events, providing friendly customer service to students, staff, families, and visitors.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to safely operate custodial equipment and cleaning products
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced school environment
- Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming learning environment
- Ability to operate floor care equipment and other custodial machinery
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in custodial services, facilities maintenance, or building operations
- Experience working in a school or educational environment
- Valid driver's license
- Basic knowledge of building maintenance and custodial practices
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Experience with preventative maintenance programs
- Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, or HVAC repairs
- OSHA safety training or similar certifications
