Job Summary
Maintenance Generalist who will perform semiskilled/skilled maintenance, repair, and construction across FCZC facilities, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and HVAC work; reads blueprints, follows work orders, and ensures safety standards while maintaining and repairing buildings and equipment; responsibilities include operating power tools and heavy machinery (forklifts, scissor lift, boom lift, bobcat), installing equipment, ordering supplies, following local/state codes, and supporting zoo operations with on-site/off-site travel as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of three (3) years of paid construction or equipment maintenance experience
- Minimum three (3) years paid experience complying with safety rules, regulations, and precautions in the maintenance trades
- Minimum one (1) year experience operating various types of machinery including forklifts, scissor lift, boom lift, bobcat, and pallet jacks
- Diploma from a trade school or successful completion of apprenticeship preferred
- A valid California driver's license, valid vehicle insurance, enrolled in the CA Employer Pull Notice program and successful completion of the FCZ Drivers Training Program
