Job Summary
Maintenance Generalist responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, fabricating, and performing preventive maintenance on facility equipment. Responds to mechanical or electrical breakdowns, conducts emergency repair actions, and documents corrective actions. Performs preventive maintenance per schedule, adheres to safety programs (LOTO, confined space), and ensures equipment is ready for production startup/shutdown. Requires basic electrical/mechanical troubleshooting, SAP/daily logs, ability to read/write reports, and effective communication with team members; work environment may be dusty, warm, cold, or humid, and requires lifting up to 100 lbs. Must have at least 1 year of industrial maintenance experience and a high school diploma or GED. Position is 3rd shift at Tyson Foods Storm Lake plant with the company-wide commitment to safety and equal opportunity employment.
Required Qualifications
- High school Diploma or GED
- At least 1 year of industrial maintenance experience
- At least 6 months of continuous work history with the same employer within the last 24 months or recent technical school/training
- Ability to understand and follow safety procedures (LOTO, safety rules)
- Ability to perform mechanical and basic electrical troubleshooting and repairs
- Proficiency in basic computer skills (Word, Excel)
- Ability to read and write and complete on-the-job paperwork
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs and perform physical tasks (standing, climbing, etc.)
- Willingness to perform shifts including 3rd shift
- Good communication with hourly team members and management
- Able to work in varying environmental conditions
