Job Summary
Maintenance Generalist to operate on 1st shift in Waverly, NE, performing troubleshooting and repair across electrical controls, fluid power mechanical systems, and power transmission with predictive maintenance duties. Roles include providing technical support for all phases of the operation, working in a team, and traveling 1–5 times per year. Qualifications emphasize proficiency in AC/DC circuits and industrial electrical systems, PLC operation, electrical safety and lockout/tagout procedures, understanding of electronic devices and drives (servo motors, encoders, tachometers, motors, brakes/clutches), and experience with test equipment and CMMS software. Education of an associate degree in electronic technology or electromechanical or related field or equivalent experience is preferred; certification in any technical field is a plus. Strong troubleshooting, attention to detail, safety, and communication skills are required. This role is with Tyson Foods, requires standard physical and attendance standards, and offers 1st shift hours with potential overtime.
Required Qualifications
- Certification in any technical field or techniques is a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent + associate degree in electronic technology/electromechanical or closely related technical field strongly preferred
- Experience: minimum 6 months cumulative experience in industrial maintenance or auto mechanics
- Knowledge of AC/DC circuits, industrial electrical systems, PLCs, servo motors, encoders, tachometers, drives, safety and lockout/tagout procedures
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems (bearings, gears, clutches, belts, seals) and hydraulic/pneumatic systems
- Ability to communicate effectively and work in a team environment
- Proficiency with CMMS software and Windows-based software
- Education beyond high school required (associate degree or equivalent)
