Job Summary
General Maintenance Worker responsible for performing general maintenance and repair of district facilities, including mechanical, electrical, and sanitary systems, as well as grounds maintenance. Duties include assisting skilled workers with repairs (woodwork, electrical switches/fixtures/motors, plumbing fixtures, drainage, painting), inspecting facilities and grounds, reporting major repairs, completing work orders, moving and installing school furniture and equipment, installing doors/windows/hardware and ceiling/flooring materials, and operating light trucks to transport items. Required skills include following verbal/written instructions, understanding basic construction and maintenance procedures, effective communication, operating hand and power tools, and the ability to work independently. Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and at least one year of maintenance experience. Safety adherence, adaptability to changing tasks, reliability, and professional conduct are emphasized. The role involves variable physical demands, outdoor work, and occasional district-wide travel.
Required Qualifications
