Job Summary
Maintenance-Facilities Worker responsible for general maintenance and repair of district facilities, including woodwork, drywall, painting, doors and hardware, electrical and plumbing systems, and related areas. Executes preventive maintenance, interprets blueprints, operates hand and power tools, and moves/installs furniture and equipment. Requires ability to follow verbal/written instructions, read blueprints, communicate effectively, and work independently with safety as a priority. Detailed duties include inspecting and repairing building interiors/exteriors, playground areas, performing preventive maintenance, relocating furnishings, delivering materials, and operating light trucks or trailers to transport equipment across campuses. Must maintain tools/inventory and follow safety procedures in a physically demanding environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Texas driver’s license
- Six plus years’ experience in commercial building general maintenance and repair
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Knowledge of basic construction and routine preventive maintenance and repair procedures
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally, written, and electronically
- Ability to operate hand and power tools safely
- Ability to work independently and manage time
