Job Summary
Assist Facility Operations Coordinator with maintenance, repair, and small building projects across CAIU facilities and satellite locations. Perform light maintenance on mechanical, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems, including painting, roof repair, and equipment servicing. Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to move bulk materials in the warehouse and outdoors. Maintain grounds through mowing, snow removal, and landscaping while ensuring buildings, playgrounds, and boilers are safe for staff and students. Order materials, manage inventory, and update warehouse catalogs. Serve as backup to the Lead Receiver and Warehouseman during extended absences.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Two years of similar or related experience including time spent in preparatory positions such as custodial or maintenance roles
- Working knowledge of light power tools, hand tools, mowers, blowers, snow removal equipment, and similar maintenance equipment
- Basic computer skills, including use of e-mail, Word and Excel, and other Windows-based programs
Desired Qualifications
- Experience or certifications in forklift, pallet jack and materials moving equipment operation and safety preferred, with the ability to attain safe operation certifications within first year of employment
- Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical; and plumbing systems preferred, certifications are not required
- Knowledge of basic pest control and Integrated Pest Management practices preferred
- Previous experience in any maintenance-related area(s) is a plus
