Job Summary
Conduct shift oversight and coordinate work for facility grounds and industrial equipment, delegating tasks to associates. Inspect building structures and ammonia systems using check sheets, documenting daily rounds, temperature conditions, and pump-downs. Maintain PM schedules for compressors, cooling towers, and air units while ensuring compliance with USDA, OSHA, FDA, and EPA standards. Perform minor plumbing, painting, carpentry, and masonry repairs; locate critical spares and coordinate with third-party service providers. Train associates on technical duties and Good Manufacturing Practices.
Required Qualifications
- Associates Degree or Certificate from a college or technical trade school in Industrial Fabrication, Industrial Electrical, Machining or Millwright Program
- at least five years of applicable industrial work experience
- equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to obtain certificate showing the knowledge and ability to manage an Ammonia system
- PLC knowledge
- Ability to read electrical diagrams
- Ability to read machine drawings
- Advanced understanding of Fluid mechanics (hydraulics & pneumatics)
- Extensive experience with precision tools such as micrometers, Vernier & dial calipers, dial indicators, levels, gauge blocks
- Able to work effectively in the following environments: cold, hot, wet, high areas
- Able to climb ladders and walk along elevated cat walks in confined spaces
- Regular and predictable attendance
- Training on Good Manufacturing Practices critical to the effective implementation of the Food Safety Plan
- Training on how to identify food safety issues such as temperature control, cross-contamination, sanitation and cleanliness of the lines
