Job Summary
Maintenance Engineer for tunneling/underground infrastructure projects focusing on establishing and implementing preventive/predictive maintenance programs, maintenance planning, work-order processes, and reliability improvements for shaft excavation and tunneling equipment. Role requires mechanical/maintenance expertise with strong problem-solving, cross-functional collaboration with operations and construction teams, and guidance on mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.
Required Qualifications
- Mechanical Engineering degree, Engineering Technologist diploma, or equivalent maintenance and reliability experience
- 8+ years of experience supporting maintenance operations on major infrastructure, tunneling, mining, heavy civil, or industrial projects
- Experience developing and implementing preventive and predictive maintenance programs
- Strong knowledge of maintenance management systems, work order processes, and reliability-centered maintenance practices
- Experience supporting heavy construction equipment, mobile equipment, mechanical systems, hydraulic systems, and electrical equipment
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work in fast-paced construction environments
- Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination abilities
