Job Summary
Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical issues with machinery, carry out repairs and fabrication work, and coordinate repairs with outside contractors to schedule routine PPMs. Ensure all maintenance work is carried out safely by producing risk assessments, maintain and manage the spare parts stock to minimize cost, and keep clear records of work and calibration using computer systems. Perform welding, turning, and milling tasks while fault-finding in gas and plumbing systems. Work beyond standard hours for critical breakdowns and operate or learn forklifts. This role reports to the Head of Maintenance within a UK polymer manufacturer offering a supportive culture, with a salary up to £50,000, 25 days holiday, and free on-site parking.
Required Qualifications
- Level 3/4 NVQ diploma or equivalent in Engineering
- 17th 18th Edition beneficial
- COCN1 Commercial Gas Safety Certificate
- Experience working in a multi skilled maintenance role in a production environment
- Welding, fabrication, turning, and milling experience
- Adept at fault finding in mechanical, electrical, gas and plumbing systems
- Willing to work beyond standard hours for critical breakdowns
- Forklift driver or willing to learn
Desired Qualifications
- Apprenticed trained
- Mechanical experience ideally with rotating machinery
- Some electrical experience
