Maintenance Engineer I

Job Summary

Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and basic repairs on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and hospital-specific equipment in accordance with Joint Commission and healthcare safety standards. Respond promptly to work requests and trouble calls, troubleshooting issues and ensuring all tasks are completed without valid written complaints. Conduct regular facility equipment checks to identify potential hazards, maintain accurate records of work orders and materials, and collaborate with staff to minimize operational disruptions. Provide weekend and emergency staff relief as needed to maintain uninterrupted hospital services. Maintain inventory of supplies and tools, complete required documentation for preventive maintenance and regulatory compliance, and report malfunctioning devices immediately.

Required Qualifications

  • DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State
  • Georgia: CPI - Nonviolent Crisis Prevention & Intervention Training certification

Desired Qualifications

  • Technical School or formal training in facility maintenance, mechanical systems, or a related field
  • 1-2 years of experience in facilities maintenance, engineering, or related roles in a hospital or healthcare setting
  • Familiarity with medical gas systems, elevators, and emergency power systems
