Job Summary
Maintenance Engineer I – Costa Rica site (Alajuela) within Abbott's Electrophysiology Division; directly responsible for the site operations equipment, fixtures and tools maintenance, technical operation/support and turnkey of all equipment related to operations in the Costa Rica site. Responsibilities include direct interface with clients on scope of maintenance and turnkey projects, equipment maintenance, tooling and fixtures operation; promote continuous improvement of maintenance systems to achieve outstanding operational and regulatory results; report results via metrics; lead continuous improvements of project and operation’s maintenance/execution systems to comply with internal and external client needs. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, 0-3 years of experience, proficiency with MS Office and MS Project, experience in equipment/tools/fixtures maintenance and root cause analysis, and intermediate English. Preferred qualifications include Abbott internship program participation or advanced STEM coursework, and knowledge of FDA, GMP and ISO guidelines. Shift B: Monday to Friday 3:30 pm to 10:00 pm and Saturday 8:00 am to 3:30 pm; on-site at Costa Rica location.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree Engineering (preferably in Electronic, Mechanical, Industrial Maintenance or Electrical Engineering)
- 0-3 years of working experience on similar roles
- Knowledge in MS Office and MS Project
- Experience in equipment, tooling and fixtures maintenance, troubleshooting and root cause analysis
- Intermediate command of English language
