Job Summary
Oversee, coordinate, and assist in maintenance activities for hotel properties, ensuring repair and preventative maintenance are completed as directed while supporting capital repair and renovation projects. Supervise and maintain fire and life safety systems, HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and kitchen equipment, performing skilled repairs with power tools and welding. Administer the preventative maintenance program, monitor tool inventories, obtain bids, and manage budget expenditures with approved vendors. Conduct training for co-workers on safety, security, and service guidelines, while driving to local stores for last-minute supplies. Work nights, weekends, and holidays with on-call availability within a 30-minute response time, maintaining a professional image and resolving guest complaints in a service-oriented manner.
Required Qualifications
- Two or more years of maintenance, construction or related experience
- Must be able to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations
- Must comprehend and understand complex maintenance systems such as electronic door locks, make up air systems, laundry equipment, tankless water heaters, HVAC systems
- Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
- Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace
- Must be effective at listening to, understanding and clarifying concerns and issues raised by associates and guests
- Ability to stand for long hours at a time
- Strenuous work- exertion up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
- Ability to be on call when away from work within 30 minutes response time
- Will be required to work nights, weekends and holidays
- Will be required to work in fast paced environment
- Long hours are sometimes required
Desired Qualifications

- Technical or engineering degree/certification from a recognized technical school or institute
