Maintenance Electrician - Night Shift

Job Summary
Setup, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical equipment, packaging systems, and production machinery in compliance with regulatory and food safety protocols. Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and annual preventative maintenance on all site equipment while preparing work orders via a computerized maintenance management system. Logically diagnose complex electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, read technical blueprints, and prepare dimensioned sketches. Participate in production line changeovers for conveyors and sealing equipment, source necessary parts, and address hazards immediately to uphold a safety-first policy. Work night shifts from 10:30 pm to 7:30 am Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend overtime required in a cold, fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Electrician
- 2-5 years' industrial mechanical/electrical experience
- food industry experience

- Ability to work in wet and cold/warm environments
- Knowledge of appropriate health & safety and environmental regulations
- Adherence to Food Safety Protocols
- Must be available for night shift: 10:30 pm to 7:30am, Monday to Friday
- Must be available for overtime on some weekends
- Comfortable working around meat products (beef, pork, chicken, seafood, soy, etc.)
- comfortable with mechanical and electrical preventative maintenance, setup, and repairs
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment
- Ability to install electrical equipment in compliance with regulatory requirements
- Ability to logically perform troubleshooting techniques on complex machinery, including electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Ability to prepare work orders using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
- Ability to perform Preventative Maintenance (PM) of all site equipment
- Ability to source and prepare parts for all preventative and reactive work
- Ability to prepare basic dimensioned sketches
- Ability to read and understand technical bulletins, manuals, instructions and blueprints
- Ability to perform daily, weekly, monthly and annual electrical & mechanical PMs
- Ability to participate in all maintenance team meetings
- Ability to participate in production line changeover including but not limited to conveyors, case packers, tray formers and sealing equipment
- Ability to maintain excellent housekeeping and follow the 5S principles
- Ability to practice a safety first policy by addressing hazards, defective equipment, wearing personal protective equipment as required, and by reporting & correcting unsafe conditions immediately
- Compliance with all Health & Safety, HACCP, BRC and Good Manufacturing Practices
