Job Summary
Install, repair, and maintain electrical components of industrial equipment including lighting, furnaces, controls, motors, and pumps. Perform quality testing and inspections while observing safety procedures and meeting electrical codes. Install rigid conduit, flexible power supply, and shielded cable, and repair portable tools such as grinders, drills, and welders. Select proper wire sizes and types, replace electrical parts, and install transformers, breakers, load centers, and motors. Use blueprints, technical diagrams, and the National Electrical Code as guides, applying knowledge of single-phase and three-phase AC and DC motor controls. Maintain logs recording labor, material, and equipment used. Perform all duties in compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and housekeeping standards.
Required Qualifications
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a formal apprenticeship
- valid electricians license
- 0-2 years of experience within the field of general maintenance
- equivalent combination of education and experience
- Basic computer skills
- Able to work all shifts and overtime as needed
- Able to lift repetitively up to 30 lbs
- Able to stand for extended periods of time
- Able to bend
- Able to twist
- Able to turn
- Able to grasp
- knowledge of single-phase and three-phase AC and DC motor controls
- knowledge of both low and high voltage
- knowledge of electrical schematics (AS and DC)
- knowledge of the National Electrical Code
- Use established safety procedures and devices to protect yourself and others from electrical shock
- Use test equipment to assure proper circuitry, voltage, amperage, loading
