Job Summary
Maintenance Electrician role in school facilities performing electrical maintenance, wiring, control and distribution panel installation, testing and troubleshooting, and related repairs. Responsibilities include reading blueprints/diagrams, installing wiring and electrical fixtures, connecting power cables and grounding leads, testing circuit continuity, observing equipment for hazards and recommending repairs, maintaining maintenance records, estimating time and materials, ordering supplies, and coordinating work with others. Frequent travel between schools is required. Applicants should have vocational/technical training or an approved electrical apprenticeship and hold appropriate state licensing (including E-1 Master where required). Tools and testing instruments (ohmmeter, voltage and amperage meters) and a strong emphasis on safety procedures and adherence to building codes are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of vocational technical school program in electrical trade or completion of an approved apprenticeship program in the electrical trade
- Successful experience at the journeyman level of the electrical trade
- License or Certificate
- Motor Vehicle Operator's license
- State licensing for electrical E-1 Master license required
