Job Summary
Execute automation solutions and control systems for plant processes, including design, configuration, and troubleshooting of electrical and instrumentation functions. Read schematics, implement control strategies based on best practices, and collaborate with support teams to identify reliability improvements and provide project training. Perform physical maintenance tasks involving lifting up to 50 pounds, working on irregular surfaces, and navigating slippery, humid environments while adhering to personal protective equipment requirements. Requires a 6-day work week, PLC/HMI programming knowledge, and ability to pass an electrical aptitude test. Located in Fort Morgan, CO, this role supports Cargill's protein and salt business within a global team of 160,000 employees.
Required Qualifications
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without the need of a Visa sponsorship
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Knowledge of PLC/HMI/Controls programming languages
- Ability to update and troubleshoot a range of electrical or instrumentation systems
- Ability to read and analyze electrical schematics
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work well in a team or individual environment and be a self-starter
- Ability to pass an Electrical Aptitude Test
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- This position requires availability for a 6 day work week
Desired Qualifications
- Previous Cargill Experience
- Ability to understand continuous and batch process control strategies
- Possess a working understanding of the production process
- Ability to configure and program a variety of control systems including PLC and HMI systems
- Knowledge of reliability centered maintenance, planning and scheduling
- Automation, Electrical, and / or Instrumentation experience with Allen-Bradley and Siemens
- Design and implementation knowledge of plant digital business technologies
