Maintenance E&I Technician 1st Shift

Job Summary

Install, maintain, and repair industrial control systems, power distribution systems, motors, and robotics while performing preventative maintenance, calibrations, and fault diagnosis on electrical, instrumentation, and process equipment. Document maintenance logs, machine failures, and equipment files, and coordinate downtime schedules with the Maintenance Manager and Engineering. Troubleshoot PLCs, read schematics, and execute lock-out/tag-out procedures for transformers, switchgear, and high-voltage motors. Work 10-12 hours on feet in hot or cold environments, lifting 40 pounds and wearing full PPE. Richmond, VA location; hourly pay up to $50; direct hire only. TemperPack designs sustainable cold-chain packaging for food and pharmaceuticals.

Required Qualifications

  • HS diploma or GED
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent and ongoing basis
  • E-Verify eligibility
  • Be on your feet for 10-12 hours
  • Able to lift 40 pounds unassisted
  • Able to reach, bend, kneel and climb while performing repetitive tasks
  • Ability to work in hot and cold environments
  • Able to correctly wear PPE for entire shifts
  • Able to react and respond quickly to noises, smells, visual hazards, and alerts
  • Experience with extrusion or lamination machines or comparable manufacturing processes
  • Experience with industrial process equipment and instrumentation
  • Familiar with PLC ladder logic and editing
  • High-level efficiency of hand tools, power tools, drill presses, grinders, etc.
  • Knowledge of safe working practices with rotating and high voltage machinery
  • General understanding of OSHA requirements including lock-out/tag-out, confined spaces, SDS, etc.
  • Working knowledge of motor control circuits
  • Understand local, state, and national electrical codes
  • Ability to disassemble and assemble gearboxes and pumps
  • Ability to identify and measure critical tolerances or dimensions
  • Ability to know when gearboxes and pumps need alignment
  • Ability to work cohesively with other team members, and to contribute positively to the work environment
  • Must be able to perform preventative maintenance on a wide variety of electrical systems, equipment, and components including but limited to, transformers, switchgear, bus bars, high and low voltage motors and panel wiring
  • Understands how to program and troubleshoot PLC's
  • Clearly understands LOTO
