Maintenance - Duty Technician

Job Summary
Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests and carry out preventative and reactive maintenance across guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house facilities, and hotel equipment. Perform general building repairs, fault finding, and basic plumbing, electrical, hydraulic, air conditioning, and mechanical maintenance. Maintain external façades and public spaces by undertaking painting, patching, and finishing works, while conducting routine inspections to identify and rectify defects. Collaborate with the Engineering team to ensure operational excellence and maintain accurate maintenance records using the hotel's management system. Work across a 7-day rotating roster including weekends and public holidays with on-call duties.
Required Qualifications
- Relevant trade qualification or demonstrated maintenance experience
- Sound knowledge of general building maintenance, including basic plumbing, electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and air conditioning systems
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise work and manage multiple tasks effectively
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while also contributing positively to a team environment
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong focus on customer service
- Commitment to maintaining a safe workplace and complying with Work Health and Safety (WHS) requirements
- Flexibility to work across a 7-day rotating roster, including weekends, public holidays, and on-call duties where required (penalty rates apply)
