Job Summary
Maintenance Technician at Courtyard by Marriott responsible for performing preventative maintenance and routine inspections throughout the property, troubleshooting and repairing HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical issues, and responding to guest maintenance requests and emergency repairs. Maintains guestrooms, public areas, pool/spa areas, and equipment to Marriott standards; completes work orders and maintains maintenance records; assists with painting, drywall, carpentry, and general repairs. Supports QA readiness and daily property walks; coordinates with Front Desk and Housekeeping regarding room readiness and maintenance needs; ensures safety standards and OSHA compliance; assists with vendor coordination and equipment monitoring as needed. Requires hands-on maintenance experience, knowledge of building systems, strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks, excellent communication and teamwork, physical ability to lift and perform tasks, and flexibility to work weekends/holidays; HVAC or maintenance certifications are a plus. The role is on-site at Lafayette, LA locations on a full-time schedule, with salary between $29,120 and $30,160 annually.
Required Qualifications
- Previous maintenance or engineering experience preferred
- Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building maintenance
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to lift, bend, climb, and perform physical tasks as needed
- Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
- HVAC or maintenance certifications are a plus
