Job Summary
Maintenance Director is responsible for the overall maintenance of the facility, performing repairs and maintenance on equipment and supplies, ordering and requisitioning as needed, and scheduling regular maintenance checks. The role includes supervising and developing maintenance staff, coordinating with contractors, managing inventory and purchases, ensuring compliance with federal/state regulations and facility policies, and promoting a positive, safe, and quality-focused environment. Responsibilities span facility maintenance and safety (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, fire alarm systems), preventive and routine maintenance, staff supervision and development, equipment and supply management, and ongoing professional improvement to support residents and departments within a Minnesota healthcare community.
Required Qualifications
- Boiler license is required
- Experience in healthcare, skilled nursing facility or assisted living community
- Must have thorough knowledge of general maintenance (boilers, heating and air conditioning units, refrigerators and freezers, electrical wiring, etc.)
- Minnesota Engineer-Class C license is preferred
- Two years of experience in maintenance and power plant work is desirable
- High school diploma or equivalent (12th grade)
