Job Summary
Oversee all facility maintenance operations, ensuring equipment, building systems, and outdoor areas are safe, functional, and compliant with regulations. Manage plumbing, electrical, HVAC, water, sewage, and fire safety systems; perform and document preventive maintenance; coordinate contract services; and complete routine repairs. Supervise maintenance staff, assign tasks, participate in hiring and evaluations, and provide training during onboarding. Manage inventory, order supplies and equipment within budget guidelines, and maintain clear purchasing documentation. Support compliance and quality improvement efforts by staying current with state and federal regulations, attending trainings and audits, and contributing to policy development. Available for evening or weekend needs when required.
Required Qualifications
- Thorough knowledge of general maintenance, such as: boilers, heating and air conditioning units, refrigerators and freezers, electrical wiring, etc.
- Boiler license
- Leadership ability
- Ability and willingness to cooperate and communicate with all staff and Department Directors
- Qualification for employment after criminal background study per guidelines of the Minnesota Department of Human Services
- Experience in healthcare, skilled nursing facility or assisted living community
- Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and pivot with sudden demands of your attention
- Ability to clearly speak and proficiently read and write in English
- Availability for evening or weekend needs when required
Desired Qualifications
- Minnesota Engineer-Class C license
- Two (2) years of experience in maintenance and power plant work
