Job Summary
Direct and supervise daily operations of the Maintenance and Environmental Services departments, leading, coaching, and scheduling staff to ensure efficient facility management. Execute and manage the preventative maintenance program while maintaining accurate records, inspections, and work orders in the TELS system. Prioritize maintenance requests, perform daily facility rounds, and coordinate outside vendors for specialized repairs. Maintain building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and life safety equipment, ensuring compliance with CMS, OSHA, and Life Safety Code regulations. Conduct routine fire drills, monitor essential systems, and collaborate with nursing leadership to support infection prevention and resident readiness. Manage department budgets, inventory, and safety policies to keep the facility safe, clean, and compliant.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous supervisory or management experience in maintenance
Desired Qualifications
- Experience as a Maintenance Director, Plant Operations Director, Facilities Manager, Maintenance Supervisor, or similar leadership role
- Long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, hospital, or healthcare maintenance experience
- Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems, carpentry, painting, drywall, and general building maintenance
- Knowledge of Life Safety Code, OSHA, CMS, state survey requirements, and regulatory compliance
- Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining regulatory compliance
