Job Summary
Manage the Maintenance Department by adhering to proper staffing, scheduling, and facility upkeep in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations. Conduct daily rounds to verify personnel performance, inspect storage and utility rooms, and supervise outside services. Lead snow and ice removal, maintain fire protection systems, and perform carpentry, electrical, and plumbing repairs within expertise. Establish preventative maintenance programs, monitor inventory, and ensure compliance with building codes and safety standards. Work seven days a week, on-call 24 hours for emergencies, in extreme environmental conditions. Requires high school education, one year supervisory experience, and valid driver's license.
Required Qualifications
- high school education or its equivalent
- one year experience in a supervisory capacity, in a maintenance related position
- valid driver's license
- ability to withstand inside and outside environmental conditions, extreme heat, freezing conditions, and a noisy, dirty, dusty, or greasy work environment at times
- knowledgeable of boilers, compressors, generators, etc., as well as various mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- knowledgeable in building codes and safety regulations
- licensed in accordance with current applicable standards, codes, labor laws, etc.
- able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- knowledgeable of maintenance practices and procedures, as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing maintenance functions in the facility
- leadership ability and ability to work in teams
- ability to plan and carry out programs in repair, new construction, and equipment installation
