Job Summary
Manage the Maintenance Department by adhering to proper staffing, scheduling, and facility surveys while ensuring outside services are supervised per contracts. Conduct daily rounds to verify personnel duties, inspect storage and work rooms for upkeep, and maintain fire alarm and protection systems. Execute carpentry, heating/cooling, and limited electrical/plumbing repairs, monitor inventory, and lead snow removal. Operate on a seven-day, 24-hour call rotation for emergencies.
Required Qualifications
- high school education or its equivalent
- one year experience in a supervisory capacity, in a maintenance related position
- valid driver's license
- ability to withstand inside and outside environmental conditions, extreme heat, freezing conditions, and a noisy, dirty, dusty, or greasy work environment at times
- knowledgeable of boilers, compressors, generators, etc., as well as various mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- knowledgeable in building codes and safety regulations
- licensed in accordance with current applicable standards, codes, labor laws, etc.
- able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- knowledgeable of maintenance practices and procedures, as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing maintenance functions in the facility
- leadership ability and ability to work in teams
- ability to plan and carry out programs in repair, new construction, and equipment installation
