Job Summary
Oversee overall facility maintenance, including buildings, grounds, equipment, and safety systems, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Supervise routine and preventive maintenance on plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and other systems while coordinating daily work schedules for a small team. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies, conduct regular facility inspections to identify safety hazards, and maintain an organized inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies. Collaborate with the Administrator and department heads to support operational needs and coordinate with vendors for repairs and inspections. Lead a hands-on maintenance operation in a well-established nursing home committed to exceptional resident care.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in building maintenance or facilities management, preferably in a healthcare or long-term care setting
- Supervisory experience
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Ability to prioritize tasks and respond to urgent maintenance needs effectively
- Knowledge of OSHA, Life Safety Code, and applicable building codes
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be able to lift, bend, climb ladders, and work on your feet for extended periods
