Job Summary
Plan, organize, and direct the maintenance program for grounds, plumbing, carpentry, mechanical systems, and minor electrical work. Supervise outside service contracts and manage transportation equipment, including the facility maintenance van. Perform hands-on repairs such as installing pipes, fixing electrical malfunctions, and altering building structures. Develop and review site-specific maintenance logs, equipment records, and procedures to ensure compliance with state, federal, and agency standards. Coordinate annual fire safety inspections and training for personnel and residents. Maintain tools and machinery in good condition while adhering to safety protocols and dress codes.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to communicate effectively with verbal and written instructions in English
- Ability to identify maintenance problems, plan and follow through to their solution in a timely manner
- In depth understanding of physical plant maintenance requirements
- Knowledge of state and federal guidelines
- Have the ability to safely perform movements such as pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, kneeling, reaching and lifting up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations
- As assigned, including some weekends, evenings and holidays; non-exempt position
Desired Qualifications
- Prior long-term care experience preferred
- Prefer experience in estimating maintenance and repair costs
