Job Summary
Cleans, washes floors, walls, and windows; empties waste receptacles; and changes light bulbs throughout the Ice Arena and surrounding grounds. Maintains locker and shower rooms, cleans adjacent grounds for litter, and performs setup and takedown for all facility rentals. Changes light bulbs, communicates safety concerns to the Facility Supervisor, and may assist with cleaning at satellite pool facilities. Performs marginal ice maintenance tasks, shovels snow, operates a gas-powered snow blower, and spreads salt on sidewalks. Works up to 20 hours per week under the direct supervision of the Ice Arena Facility Supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- 16 years of age
- Knowledge of cleaning supplies and basic tools
- Must be able to lift 50lbs
- Must be able to work independently
- Must have decision making skills
- Must be able to take the initiative with tasks
- Must have good communication skills
- Must be able to organize and prioritize duties and responsibilities
- Must obtain CPR and First Aid certification
- Must be able to work up to 20 hours per week
- Must be able to stand, move and perform labor activities for long period of time
- Must walk on ice surface to perform some duties
- Must work closely with others
- Must work around the general public and patrons in the facility
- Must work under the supervision and directions of supervisors
- Must be able to communicate well verbally and in writing
- Must be able to follow directions from supervisor
- Must be able to follow task lists completely
- Must use good safety awareness and judgment at all times
