Job Summary
Custodian/Maintenance Technician at Keokuk Catholic School responsible for routine cleaning and building maintenance, including minor plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs, maintenance of mechanical systems (boilers, A/C, water heaters), coordination with inspectors/service providers for safety systems (fire alarms, water sprinklers, pest control, radon and water testing, asbestos management), seasonal snow removal, cleaning of hallways/classrooms/restrooms, cafeteria cleanup, and documentation while ensuring safe, clean school facilities. Requires a high school diploma or GED, experience with carpentry/repairs, valid driver’s license, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and strong communication and organizational skills. Daytime hours with supervision from Head of School and Business/HR Director.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience with general carpentry, repairs, and the safe use of power and hand tools
- Active and clear driver’s license
- Willingness to work flexible hours and perform physically demanding tasks (lifting up to 50 lbs)
- Effective communicator with both children and adults
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
