Job Summary
Maintain building cleanliness and safety through daily mopping, vacuuming, floor care, and exterior grounds monitoring. Perform snow removal on walkways and parking lots, execute program room setups, and handle basic repairs like installing garbage disposals, patching walls, and changing light bulbs. Monitor compacting machines, assist with annual HUD/MHFA inspections, and manage apartment turnovers by removing furniture and debris. Report unsafe practices to management and may accompany contractors to observe tenant unit work. Requires a valid Massachusetts driver's license, ability to lift 50 pounds, and flexibility for weekend and overtime schedules.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1-year work experience in a general labor or semi-skilled position in a multi-family or commercial property
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions
- Knowledge of basic skills in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, & painting
- Ability to safely and frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds
- Good interpersonal skills
- Sensitivity to and comfort working with the elderly
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, written and spoken
- Valid Massachusetts driver's license
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends
- Overtime and coverage for additional shifts may be required
- Schedules are subject to change
