Job Summary
Maintenance Coordinator role in Halifax (Hybrid) focused on providing work package support to Ship Maintenance Leads and the Service Delivery Team. Responsible for coordinating subcontractors (TSN) during each Work Period, ensuring all maintenance activities are completed to required quality and safety/environmental standards. Manages tools/equipment loans, material handling, and updating DRMIS with maintenance records; assists in planning, reporting, and documentation to facilitate execution and closure of work periods. Key duties include supervising maintenance activities for quality and safety, compiling closure reports, generating documentation/reports (Word/Excel/PowerPoint), ensuring subcontractor paperwork and materials are in order, supporting Corrective/Preventive maintenance tracking, participating in meetings, maintaining service provider records, and ensuring compliance with Health and Safety requirements; onsite management of Worker Access Management System and occasional travel as required.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2-year technical program diploma (or university degree) in a relevant field, or certified as a technician by a recognized provincial licensing body
- Navy QL 6 and above for technical trades of the RCN or equivalent certification
- Experience in procurement, project management or operations is highly desirable
- Two years of experience in Military or Industrial Contract or Project environments is desirable
- Experience with the Defense Resource Management Information System (DRMIS) or similar document management system is advantageous
- Experience with SAP or other ERP/Asset Management software is advantageous
- Experience in ship-refit and repair activities is advantageous
- Proven ability to generate/manage reports and maintain accurate records
- Strong focus on Health and Safety compliance
Additional Requirements
- Must meet federal government requirements to access Canadian government facilities, including naval dockyards
- Eligible to obtain authorization for access to hardware, software or technical information controlled under Canadian and US export controls, including NATO Secret clearance
