Job Summary
Coordinate maintenance package support for Ship Maintenance Leads and the Service Delivery team, ensuring all agreed maintenance activities are completed safely and environmentally friendly. Manage special tools, test equipment, and material expended or returned by service providers, while overseeing work on board naval vessels to verify quality and compliance. Draft and review maintenance instructions, compile Work Item closure reports, and generate documentation and purchase requisitions for subcontracted services. Ensure service providers have necessary paperwork and materials to complete designated tasks, attend meetings, and maintain accurate records. Occasional domestic or international travel is required, including extended periods away from Halifax for Docking Work Periods. Requires a NATO Secret Level security clearance and access to Canadian government facilities.
Required Qualifications
- Technical program diploma in a marine technical field offered by a recognized technical institute or certified as a technologist/technician by a recognized provincial, state, or federal (national) licensing body in a relevant field
- Minimum of four (4) years of demonstrated practical hands-on experience performing and coordinating maintenance activities within the last ten (10) years
- Strong computer literacy, with proven experience with Microsoft products especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong organizational skills and ability to balance multiple priorities
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance at the NATO Secret Level
- Access to Trade Controlled Items
- Access to Controlled Goods
- Positive Controlled Goods assessment
- Direct or indirect access to hardware, software, technology or technical data controlled under the Canadian Export Control List, the ITAR or the EAR
- Must meet all federal government requirements to access Canadian government facilities, including naval dockyards
- Occasional domestic or international travel will be required, which will include access to government facilities and assets, including naval vessels
- Willingness to work away from Halifax area for extended periods (up to 1 month) supporting Docking Work Periods
- 40 hours per week
- Must be able to work onsite in the Naval Dockyard and onboard Naval Vessels
- Will be required to work from the office or from home
- Will be required to undertake inspections, including confined space entry, on Naval ships involving bending and twisting
- Tasks may also require working at heights
Desired Qualifications
- 5 + Years of experience working in projects and teams or in marine environments
- Experience interfacing between various internal/external stakeholders within a project
- Experience within procurement, project management or warehouse environments
- Project experience interfacing between internal/external stakeholders
- Tertiary education in an Engineering, Technical, or Business/Project Management related field
