Job Summary
Oversees preventative maintenance of Community facilities including interior/exterior, grounds, walkways, driveways, and parking; ensures safety, attractiveness, and budget compliance; may provide back-up support for Community Driver to transport residents; performs or coordinates emergency repairs, supervises outside contractors, maintains maintenance logs and equipment, and participates in safety committees; trains Executive Director in emergency system operation and maintains hazardous materials inventories and safety documentation; supports housekeeping and resident services as needed; this position is a multi-tasking, universal role with on-call responsibilities and cross-training across maintenance functions.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two years’ verifiable hands-on maintenance experience (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC)
- Ability to perform and coordinate emergency building repairs and coordinate subcontractors
- Provide training for Executive Director in emergency systems
- Experience with power tools used in construction/maintenance
- Valid driver’s license with good driving record and proof of auto insurance
- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds
- Effective communication in English (verbal and written)
- Meet state health requirements as applicable
- Team player with positive attitude
- Maintain professional demeanor with coworkers and residents
- Excellent customer service and organizational skills
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Pass background/criminal health screenings as applicable
- Familiarity with safety protocols and hazardous materials handling
- Ability to perform on-call emergency maintenance and cross-trained duties
