Job Summary
Maintenance Coordinator – Conveyors at Fortescue’s Port Hedland operations leads the maintenance of conveyor assets, coordinating planned and corrective work, overseeing frontline teams and contractors, and driving reliability and safety. Responsible for supporting shutdown planning, monitoring asset performance, and contributing to budgeting and work-management processes. Emphasizes visible safety leadership, collaboration with Operations, Planning, Engineering and contractors, and developing team capability through coaching and leadership support. FIFO from Perth or residential in Port Hedland is offered, with a family-friendly 8 days-on/6 days-off roster. The role requires a strong background in mining/port heavy industry, conveyor systems, maintenance planning and execution, stakeholder management, and a commitment to Fortescue’s values and leadership expectations.
Required Qualifications
- Trade qualification or relevant technical discipline (highly regarded)
- Demonstrated experience in maintenance leadership or coordination roles within mining, ports, heavy industry or bulk materials handling environments
- Strong knowledge of conveyor systems and associated mechanical equipment
- Proven ability to lead and motivate diverse teams in a dynamic operational environment
- Experience managing contractors and multiple stakeholders
- Sound understanding of maintenance planning, scheduling and execution principles
- Strong problem-solving, communication and decision-making skills
