Job Summary
Maintain all areas of the property and surroundings by completing work orders, troubleshooting appliances, and coordinating unit preparations for new residents. Perform daily cleaning duties including vacuuming carpets, mopping floors, dusting, and sanitizing restrooms, while managing landscaping tasks such as mowing, edging, snow removal, and fertilizing. Execute apartment reconditioning by inspecting vacant units for repairs, painting interiors, and conducting annual inspections. Respond to emergency situations 24/7, manage HVAC and plumbing systems, and coordinate with vendors for large projects. Assist with staff training and uphold the annual maintenance budget.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
- One (1) or more years of related experience
- A valid driver's license is required if assigned to travel between multiple locations
- Must obtain and maintain mandatory, state and federal requirements and certifications for practice or occupation
- General knowledge and experience in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, landscaping, carpentry, basic maintenance
- Must be adept at using a wide variety of hand and power tools, yard care equipment, etc, as pertaining to general maintenance
- Ability to organize and prioritize work
- Good time management skills
- Ability to quickly identify and solve problems, as pertaining to general maintenance
- Ability to perceive and recommend preventative maintenance measures
- Must be able to adhere to all terms and conditions set forth in the United Church Homes Employee Handbook
