Maintenance Carpenter

Job Summary

Conduct structural and finish carpentry, including framing, drywall repair, and door hardware maintenance across government, defense, and commercial facilities. Perform routine inspections to identify deficiencies in fixtures and structural elements, then execute corrective repairs for damaged interiors. Respond to work orders and facility requests while ensuring all tasks comply with OSHA standards and building codes. Fabricate custom woodwork using hand and power tools, complete documentation for as-completed records, and coordinate with subcontractors on renovation projects. Maintain a clean, organized work area and properly store equipment. This hands-on role supports Voyager Technologies' mission to protect critical assets and fortify national security through transformative operational solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of journeyman-level carpentry or construction maintenance experience
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and finishing equipment (saws, drills, nail guns, sanders, levels, etc.)
  • Experience in both rough and finish carpentry including framing, drywall, millwork, and cabinetry
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and work order specifications
  • Working knowledge of applicable building codes, fire egress requirements, and OSHA safety standards
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to travel between facility sites as required
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs, work at heights on ladders and scaffold, and perform physically demanding tasks
  • A pre-employment background check and drug screening
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance

Desired Qualifications

  • Journeyman Carpenter certification or equivalent trade credential
  • Experience in facilities maintenance for government, defense, or commercial properties
  • Familiarity with ADA compliance requirements and accessibility modifications
  • Basic knowledge of related trades (plumbing rough-in, electrical rough-in, HVAC support) to coordinate work efficiently
  • Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or work order platforms
