Job Summary
Construct, install, repair, and maintain building structures, furniture, doors, windows, cabinetry, and wood fixtures. Perform repairs to drywall, framing, flooring, trim, and interior/exterior finishes. Inspect campus buildings to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns, completing assigned work orders in a timely manner. Operate hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery safely while assuring compliance with all safety guidelines. Assist with classroom, office, and facility modifications and collaborate with maintenance staff on broader campus projects. Maintain a clean workspace and uphold a professional attitude with student-athletes, team members, and vendors. Requires a valid Florida driver's license, prior carpentry experience, and ability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Florida Driver's License or the ability to obtain one
- Prior carpentry experience
- Ability to lift, carry, move, push and pull equipment or boxes up to 50lbs
- Ability to stand and walk for duration of shift
- Ability to climb ladders and work at high elevations
- Ability to handle outdoor temperatures for a reasonable period of time
- Ability to work on various indoor and outdoor surfaces including grass, turf, courts, etc. in all weather
- Ability to operate office equipment such as computers
- Requires manual dexterity to use and operate equipment and tools
- Ability to work days, nights, weekends and holidays as needed
- Requires a background check upon offer
- Requires a drug test upon offer
- This position requires a Florida Level 2 Background Screening
