Maintenance Buyer

Job Summary
Review maintenance demand and generate purchase orders for materials, equipment, and services to support maintenance schedules. Source and expedite critical repair parts, identifying suitable substitutes when items are unavailable. Process purchase orders and reconciliations within ERP and CMMS systems while maintaining vendor records. Follow up on orders to ensure timely delivery, coordinating with Shipping and Receiving on discrepancies. Support Accounts Payable by resolving invoice discrepancies and work closely with Engineering on components for capital improvements. Coordinate vendor visits, request cycle counts of MRO inventory, and properly dispose of obsolete items. Prepare reports tracking key performance indicators for AOP and maintenance objectives. This role requires overtime, evenings, and weekend work in a refrigerated food manufacturing plant environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Working knowledge of maintenance purchasing, MRO, and storeroom best practices
- Strong organizational, analytical, problem‑solving, and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work with internal and external customers
- Basic math and financial skills for order tracking and invoice reconciliation
- Occasional lifting, bending, kneeling, and handling of items exceeding 50 lbs
- Overtime, evenings, and/or weekend work availability
Desired Qualifications
- Maintenance or industrial purchasing experience
- Experience with CMMS, ERP systems, and/or MRO programs
- Bilingual English/Spanish
