Job Summary
Manage purchasing of materials, supplies, equipment, and services for dairy production maintenance, including sourcing, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery. Research vendor price quotes, create purchase orders, and maintain financial logs and cascading records. Monitor weekly inventory lists and parts levels to maintain min/max thresholds, while verifying paperwork and tracking received items. Resolve problems related to purchasing, delivery, receiving, and payment by taking corrective action in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements. Work independently with limited supervision to prioritize workload and communicate with vendors and internal teams.
Required Qualifications
- Some experience with purchasing procedures
- Some experience in a manufacturing environment as a buyer
- Ability to keep track of repairs and replacement parts
- Ability to work with limited supervision
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Proficiency with Microsoft basic PC programs, emphasis in Excel
- Experience with parts inventory procedures
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing Principles
- Ability to work independently on difficult or complex tasks and keep accurate records
- Ability to take directions and follow instructions
- Ability to identify problems and propose solutions
- Ability to prioritize workload
- High attention to detail
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of manager, clients, customers and the general public
- Business agility who can change tasks easily and professionally
