Job Summary
The Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing maintenance tasks including carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, electrical work, and more to ensure Bickerdike’s apartment units and surrounding areas are maintained. This position requires planning, organizing, and execution of various work orders, as well as the ability to evaluate and create scopes of work for maintenance. Candidates must have at least 3-4 years of experience in maintenance and a high school diploma or equivalent. Essential skills include the operation of relevant tools and good communication abilities. The role involves physical demands such as lifting up to 75 pounds and working in various conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-4 years of related experience in maintenance work
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic math skills
- Own tools necessary for the job
- Driver's license and proof of insurance
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical fields
- Good communication (written & oral) skills
- Ability to work with diverse populations
