Job Summary
Evening Shift Maintenance Assistant responsible for supporting the maintenance, appearance, and safety of the community during evening hours, with emphasis on painting, floor care, surface preparation, and general upkeep. Tasks include routine and preventive maintenance, interior painting projects (wall repair, surface prep, priming, finishing), flooring maintenance (stripping, waxing, buffing, carpet care), responding to maintenance requests, ensuring hallways and resident spaces are clean and safe, assisting with moving furniture and setting up rooms for events, reporting safety hazards, maintaining tools and maintenance areas, and following safety procedures (OSHA) while delivering excellent customer service to residents and team members.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum of 1–2 years of maintenance experience, preferably in a residential, healthcare, or hospitality setting
- Proven experience with painting (interior preferred) and floor care (stripping, waxing, buffing, carpet cleaning)
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and general repair work is a plus
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision during evening hours
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
