Job Summary
Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and general upkeep throughout the facility and grounds, completing work orders for painting, drywall, plumbing, electrical, and window repairs. Maintain exterior areas, parking lots, and green spaces while assisting with snow removal and salting. Conduct preventative maintenance and inspections on equipment such as patient lifts, oxygen concentrators, and generators. Collect and transport trash and soiled linens, report safety hazards promptly, and assist with fire drills and security. If assigned, provide transportation services using facility vehicles in accordance with NYS regulations. This role supports continuous quality improvement initiatives at Chautauqua Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, a CMS 5-Star rated facility within The McGuire Group.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 6 months of experience in a cleaning or maintenance position
- Valid NYS Driver's License
- Basic knowledge of building maintenance, repairs, tools, and equipment
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to safely lift, carry, and move equipment and supplies
- Dependable, professional, and committed to maintaining a safe environment
- Available for weekend shifts (implied by 'every other weekend' schedule requirement)
