Job Summary
Maintenance Assistant at Solaris HealthCare Daytona responsible for assisting in maintaining and repairing the facility’s physical plant and grounds. Responsibilities include light repairs, supporting resident move-ins/move-outs, coordinating maintenance activities with other departments, and ensuring compliance with federal/state/local standards and Solaris HealthCare policies. Works with the Plant Operations Director to support the maintenance program. Requires ability to read/write English, physical ability to move heavy objects, and willingness to work as part of a team; heavy emphasis on safety and resident care. Role is full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–4:30 pm, with potential for overtime, call-backs during emergencies, and exposure to healthcare environment. Background screening via AHCA Clearinghouse is required.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Experience in healthcare industry a plus
- Nursing home experience preferred
- Basic plumbing and electrical experience preferred
- Must be able to read, speak and understand English
- Must demonstrate ability to work with residents and staff
- Must be able to move heavy loads (up to 50-100 pounds)
- Must be able to work 8am-4:30pm Monday to Friday
- Must pass Florida AHCA Clearinghouse background screening
