Job Summary
Maintenance Assistant at Solaris HealthCare in Port Orange, FL. Responsible for assisting in maintaining and repairing facilities and grounds, supporting the Plant Operations Director with maintenance programs, coordinating activities with other departments, and performing duties to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local standards. Responsibilities include light repairs, keeping the physical plant in good condition, assisting with move-ins/move-outs, and handling emergency work orders. The role requires English proficiency, teamwork, leadership, and the ability to work variable hours as needed, with potential exposure to infectious waste and hazardous chemicals. Background screening per AHCA is required. The position offers full-time hours (8am–4:30pm, Monday–Friday) and benefits including health insurance, 401k, paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and uniforms.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Experience in Healthcare Industry a plus
- Nursing home experience preferred
- Basic plumbing and electrical experience preferred
- Must be able to read, speak and understand English
- Must demonstrate ability to work with residents and staff
- Must be able to move frequently and handle physical requirements
- Must meet health requirements including medical and physical examination
- Background screening per AHCA requirements
