Maintenance Assistant

Job Summary
Assists the Maintenance Department to ensure that the facility is safe, attractive and well maintained. Responsible for routine maintenance needs, may perform minor repairs, support fire and life safety training and drills, and respond to maintenance requests through maintenance reports and log system. Maintains 24-hour repair/response time for daily maintenance and handles grounds, exterior/interior care, painting, patching, carpet/floor maintenance, and general upkeep to ensure a safe, clean environment for residents. Strong communication with residents, families, staff, and vendors; attention to detail and reliable attendance are required in a senior living setting.
Required Qualifications
- Relevant work experience (2 plus years preferred)
- Must be able to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, vendors and general public
- Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly
- Must have basic reporting and organizational skills
- Must be capable of maintaining proper attendance
