Job Summary
Perform repairs on facility equipment and buildings, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and flooring. Execute building construction projects such as installing benches and flower boxes, while maintaining logs and recording all necessary information. Replace broken pipes, wires, outlets, and light bulbs, and handle snow removal 24/7 during winter months. Utilize safety gear like gloves and glasses, and work independently to relocate offices or assist residents with moving. Available for emergency work and on-call rotations.
Required Qualifications
- Preferably a high school graduate or equivalent
- Preferably two years' experience utilizing various hand tools and general engineering equipment
- Preferably two years' experience working with electrical, heating, plumbing, boilers and air conditioning systems
- Ability to speak, read, write and comprehend English
- Must be able to use ladders, staging or scaffolding devices as part of normal work routine
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs and carry maintenance equipment

- Ability to work with supervisors, co-workers and facility staff in the performance of duties
- Must be able to follow through on oral/written instructions
- Must be able to observe, listen and communicate effectively
- Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, support agencies, and outside agencies
- Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people within the facility
- Available for emergency work and on-call
- Must be available for snow removal 24/7 during winter months
